About Castle In A Box

 

 

 

​A childhood memory, turned into something new.

​

I’m Martin, and Castle in a Box started with a castle my Dad made

for my older brothers. Here it is nearly 65 years later. It was a

fantastic wooden castle, and I loved playing with it as I grew up. 

So years later, I decided to have a go myself.

​

I’m now semi-retired and enjoy woodworking,

and Castle in a Box gives me the chance to combine something

I enjoy doing with something I genuinely believe in, which is that,

children benefit from: imaginative play.

​

I love the idea of children creating their own stories, adventures

and worlds rather than simply following instructions on a screen.

I believe that this kind of play can help develop creativity, problem-solving,

communication and other skills that remain useful throughout life.

​

Every castle is handmade by me and built to order. That means I can work with you to create something that’s right for your child, your ideas and your space.

​

My castles are made from Pine wood and left unfinished, with no nails in their construction.

​

I leave the final creative touch to the child. They can paint and decorate their castle however they imagine it, making it truly their own.
